What you will get: The simple truth about happiness

It’s big business…

And lots of so called “self-help gurus” will claim they can help you get it.

They will tell you that you can have…

The gold at the end of the rainbow.
The thing we all need more of.
The magic ingredient missing from your life.

And what is this thing they are selling?

Happiness.

Problem is, what exactly is happiness?
And how do you get it?

First of all

Studies show that an pursuit of happiness can actually make you unhappy!

Why, because you are constantly looking for something you do not have.
It’s like you always feel a little piece of something is missing from your life.

So what actually will increase your happiness?

Here’s my 3 golden guidelines that are based on evidence and fact rather than a money-making claim.

Guideline 1:

Stop chasing and expecting happiness.

Providing you have food, water, a safe place top live, and loved-ones to share your life with, you already have everything you need to be as happy as you want to be!

The key to unlocking that happiness and appreciating it is inside your head. Deep down in your limbic system – your unconscious beliefs.

And by the way, when you stop chasing happiness or expecting it, that also means it is ok to embrace and be mindful of negative emotions too.

You are human.
You have good days.
You have bad days.
You feel positive emotions.
You feel negative emotions.
All are ok.

Guideline 2

Grow your Self Worth.

Value yourself today for who you are and stop focusing on what you are not or on what you have not got.
You are unique.
You are a gift to all you know and are your time with.
You deserve to be loved – not for what you achieve but simply for who you are.

Guideline 3
Be kind and make a difference.

Find something meaningful and with a purpose that helps others – then go and do it!

The more you give back to others and the planet you live on, the happier you will become.

Altruism is not an idealistic philosophy, it is a neuroscience-based reality. The kinder you are each day, the happier you will feel.

So there you have it.

Simple, right?

I’m off to stop chasing happiness, value myself for who I am and make sure my life is filled with meaningful acts of kindness and giving.

How about you?

To your fulfillment.
