The Energy Givers and Takers
What you will get: Reflections on energy giving and taking.
There’s too many vampires on this planet!
Each one trying to drain the energy from you.
And what’s more…
They come in many different shapes, forms and ways.
Sneaking up on you when you least expect them.
First off there’s the media…
Yet another doom and gloom story.
More poverty.
More death.
More bad weather.
More job losses.
More destruction.
More terrorism.
How much of this energy-draining, dramatised, unbalanced nonsense can you take?
And then of course…
…there’s the pessimists.
Unrelenting messengers of negativity (probably feeding off the media). You know who I mean, right?
That person who always looks for the worst.
Always sees the barriers.
Always points out the drawbacks.
And don’t forget…
…the angry vampires..
Full of their own anger. Looking for that small trigger to release it on others.
And when it comes – you’d better watch out. A whole bunch of negative emotion all in one short, sharp blast!
And never forget…
…the subtle energy takers.
Just the odd negative comment here and there…
“You look like you had some good food at over the holiday.”
“You look tired again.”
“Have a late night, did you?”
Each comment takes a little more of that precious energy you have.
And sadly…
Your energy is not an unlimited resource.
So you have to protect it.
Guard it.
Cherish it.
So let go of the energy vampires.
Give them a wide berth.
Let them wallow in their own negativity and despair.
And focus your precious time of the energy givers.
Those who inspire you.
Those who appreciate you.
Those who love life in all its splendor.
Granted…
They are few and far between.
But they do exist.
And you deserve them in your life.
And they deserve you.
As the old saying goes…
“If you want to fly with the eagles, then don’t hang out with the ducks.”
